OHSU and ONA to Meet in Mediation Session Tomorrow

   Portland, Ore.

Oregon Health & Science University administrators today announced that the state conciliator handling labor negotiations between OHSU and the Oregon Nurses Association has called together a mediation session for Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.

The session was requested by the conciliator to bring both sides back to the negotiation table; no new offers have been proposed by either side. Last week, OHSU made its last offer to end a nurses strike -- a 14 percent wage increase over 27 months, along with a $30/month increase in insurance benefit payments in each the first year and the second year of the contract.

ONA-represented nurses at OHSU went on strike Monday, Dec. 17.
