Sellwood-Moreland Midwife Practice Offers Expanded Hours

   Portland, Ore.

The Nurse-Midwifery Faculty Practice at Oregon Health & Science University now has expanded clinic hours at Sellwood-Moreland Clinic, 6327 S.E. Milwaukie Ave.

Patricia McGovern, C.N.M., is now seeing patients on Mondays, and Beth Blish Genly, C.N.M., will see patients on Thursdays. Sally Hersh, C.N.M. continues to see patients at the clinic on Wednesdays. There are 10 certified nurse-midwives who practice in a variety of settings throughout OHSU hospitals and clinics. The OHSU School of Nursing midwifery program recently was listed first in the country among similar programs across the country by U.S. News & World Report magazine.

Certified nurse midwives, deliver the following women's health care services:

  • Well-woman gynecology, including annual gynecologic examinations, urinary evaluation and treatment and vaginal complaints and treatment.
       
  • Contraceptive counseling and management.
       
  • Sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment.
       
  • Perimenopausal and postmenopausal care including hormone replacement therapy and alternatives.
       
  • Osteoporosis evaluation and treatment.
       
  • Pregnancy care including prenatal, labor and birth, and postpartum care.
