Portland, Ore.
The fifth annual 99.5 FM The Wolf's Hunt for a Cure Radiothon will be held March 17 and 18 to benefit Doernbecher Children's Hospital. The fund-raising event is presented by Foresters and John L. Scott Real Estate.
The radiothon will be broadcast live from the Doernbecher lobby from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 17 and 18. The broadcast will feature interviews with Doernbecher patients, including Oregon's 2005 Children's Miracle Network Champion Child: Sheridan Brenton, 13. His selection as the Champion Child will be announced at 5 p.m. during the March 18 broadcast. Sheridan is one of 50 children participating in Foresters Champions Across America. As part of this special program, Sheridan will visit Washington, D.C., and Walt Disney World in Florida to participate in the taping of the internationally televised Children's Miracle Network Celebration.
Sheridan is today doing well after undergoing more than 30 major reconstructive surgeries at Doernbecher to repair damage he sustained during an automobile accident in which all the bones in his face were broken and his right arm sheared off. Sheridan's parents are grateful for the life-saving care their son has received during the past four years.
If it weren't for the doctors at Doernbecher -- with their amazing array of specialties ranging from tissue to bone to nerve grafting -- our son wouldn't have his arm today, said Cindy Brenton, Sheridan's mom.
