Dr. Wang received ASCO Cancer FoundationYoung Investigator Award

Samuel J. Wang, MD, PhD, was the recipient of a 2008 ASCO Cancer Foundation Young Investigator Award. The $50,000 grant allowed Dr. Wang, to complete an American Board of Radiology B. Leonard Holman Pathway Research Pathway Resident track, and to continue his academic career development as a physician-scientist within the health services research area of cancer medicine. His project was titled, "A Comparison of Regression Modeling Techniques for Predicting the Benefit of Adjuvant Chemoradiotherapy for Biliary Tract Cancers".

Dr. Wang received a plaque recognizing his achievement at the 2008 ASCO meeting on June 1st, 2008. According to Dr. CR Thomas, Jr.. "Dr. Wang has continued to set a new a standard as a focused academic physician-scientist whose novel prediction modeling of survival and associated outcomes related research, is congruent with the priorities of the NIH Roadmap, the OCTRI, and the OHSU Cancer Institute".
