OHSU Announces Free “Ask the Health Experts” Lecture Series for November

The lectures are free and open to the public

Oregon Health & Science University has announced topics and speakers for its popular “Ask the Health Experts” lecture series. The November series will feature OHSU health care professionals speaking about topics ranging from how to navigate through diabetes treatment to the latest therapies for treating lower back pain. The lectures are free and open to the public.

  • Tuesday, Nov. 4 ‑ GPS for Diabetes Health: Navigating Through Treatment, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the OHSU Center for Health & Healing, 3303 S.W. Bond Ave., 3rd Floor, Portland, Ore. 97239. Presented by Andrew Ahmann, M.D., director of the OHSU Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Center and associate professor of medicine (endocrinology, diabetes and clinical nutrition), OHSU School of Medicine.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 5 ‑ Maintaining Sports and Health Performance Throughout Life, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the OHSU Center for Health & Healing, 3303 S.W. Bond Ave., 3rd Floor, Portland, Ore. 97239. Presented by Kerry Kuehl, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of medicine (health promotion and sports medicine).
  • Tuesday, Nov. 11 ‑ Heart Disease in America: Reducing Your Family’s Risk, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the OHSU Center for Health & Healing, 3303 S.W. Bond Ave., 3rd Floor, Portland, Ore. 97239. Presented by Maureen Mays, M.D., assistant professor of medicine (cardiovascular medicine).
  • Wednesday, Nov. 12 ‑ Stroke Prevention and Latest Interventional Techniques, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the OHSU Center for Health & Healing, 3303 S.W. Bond Ave., 3rd Floor, Portland, Ore. 97239. Presented by Kurt Lindsay, M.D., neurologist and stroke fellow at the Oregon Stroke Center at OHSU.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 19- Myths About Back Pain – Latest Therapies and Treatments. From 7 to 8 p.m. at the OHSU Center for Health & Healing, 3303 S.W.  Bond Ave., 3rd Floor, Portland, Ore., 97239. Presented by Hans Carlson, M.D., assistant professor of Orthopedics.
