The ninth annual 99.5 FM “The Wolf’s Hunt for a Cure Radiothon” will be held March 12 and 13 to benefit Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The fund-raising event is presented by Foresters, a membership-based life insurance organization.
This year, Burger King Corporation’s HAVE IT YOUR WAY® Foundation has come on board with a very special fundraising opportunity in addition to the two-day radiothon.
On March 10, 2009, all 71 BURGER KING® locations in the Portland Metropolitan area will donate twenty percent of all gross sales that day to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The Wolf air-talent will be on-hand at select BURGER KING® locations encouraging listeners to participate in the event. More details can be found at www.thewolfonline.com.
Organizers hope to raise an additional $50,000 to add to the overall “Hunt for a Cure” campaign goal supporting the hospital, which provides primary and specialized care to young patients each year from Oregon, southwest Washington and beyond. Doernbecher is nationally recognized for its programs in pediatric heart surgery, neurosurgery and cancer.
Listeners of 99.5 FM “The Wolf” can make donations on March 12 and 13 by calling 888 221-KIDS (5437). Within the Portland area, listeners can call 503 418-KIDS (5437). Donations can also be made online at www.thewolfonline.com.
Other radiothon sponsors include John L. Scott Foundation, Furniture Outlet and Rasmussen Mercedes Benz.
