The Portland Aerial Tram will resume its Sunday operating hours this weekend. From Sunday, May 17, to Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, the Portland Aerial Tram’s Sunday hours of operation will be 1p.m. to 5 p.m. During the winter months, the tram is closed on Sundays.

Summer Holiday Closures 

The Portland Aerial Tram will be closed:

·         Memorial Day, Monday May 25

·         Independence Day, Saturday, July 4

·         Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7

Milestones

The Portland Aerial Tram is expected to reach two significant milestones during the month of May. The 3 millionth rider of the tram is expected sometime this week. In addition, since the beginning of operations in December 2006, the Tram cabins will have travelled a combined 75 thousand miles, a distance approximately equal to three trips around the Earth’s equator.

Hours of Operation, Fares

Weekday operating hours remain 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Operating hours on Saturdays remain 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost to ride the Portland Aerial Tram is $4 per person. Children younger than 6 ride free.
