The OHSU Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) received the Program of Excellence Award at the American Academy of Family Physicians' National Conference held in Kansas City, Missouri at the end of July.
Third-year medical student Michael Goodwin accepted the award on behalf of the group. Faculty advisors for the FMIG are Anita Taylor, M.A., Associate Professor, Departement of Family Medicine, and Kathy Chappelle, M.A., Assistant Professor, Department of Family Medicine. OHSU's FMIG has won the national award for ten of the past 11 years it has been awarded, recognizing the group as one of the ten most outstanding student groups in the country.
Twenty-two OHSU medical students joined over 700 medical students from 126 medical schools who attended the meeting.
