National Research Corporation Survey Ranks OHSU No. 1

OHSU Hospital ranks No. 1 in the Portland metropolitan area according to the National Research Corporation's recently completed annual Consumer Choice survey of consumer healthcare preferences. This year OHSU is a co-winner with Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. The award identifies hospitals which healthcare consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in over 300 markets throughout the US.

This is the fourteenth year NRC has awarded honors to hospitals whose consumers have recognized them for providing the highest quality healthcare. It is the eleventh consecutive year NRC has ranked OHSU No. 1.

The NRC Healthcare Market Guide survey was sent to 2,172 households in the Portland metropolitan area and an additional 2,410 households around the state. The NRC surveys more than 250,000 households.

"It is very gratifying to see our doctors and nurses, and our reputation, regarded in this way by so many, over such a long span of time," said Peter Rapp, said OHSU senior vice president and executive director of OHSU Healthcare.

An announcement listing OHSU and the nation's other top-rated hospitals was published this fall in Modern Healthcare magazine.
