2010 Annual Best Paper Awards for Graduate Students and Post-docs.
Deadline: February 1st, 2010
Papers are being solicited from BEHN mentors for papers in both categories that are either authored or co-authored by a graduate student or authored or co-authored by a post-doc.
Eligibility rules differ between graduate students and postdocs, but are generally in accord with School of Medicine eligibility rules for best papers.
For graduate students, nominated papers must have a final publication date of 2009 (Jan 1, 2009 – Dec 31, 2009). Epub dates are acceptable.
For postdocs, nominated papers can be in preparation, in press or published in 2009.
There will be one award made for each of the two categories. Please email the publications as pdfs if possible, or mail a copy to me (lattalm@ohsu.edu or Matt Lattal, L470). A brief letter of recommendation from the respective mentor should accompany the paper when submitted to aid the BEHN Awards Committee in the selection process. This letter should include a summary of the graduate student's or post-doc's contribution to the paper. Please send this information to Matt Lattal by February 1st.
The BEHN Awards Committee of four will rate the papers we have received for graduate student and Post-doc best papers. Committee members who are also mentors for submitted manuscripts will abstain from voting on their own papers. In the case of ties, the Chair will make the choice. Dr. Hitzemann will assist with the review process.
NOTES- Grad students: Non-BehN students supported by training grants administered by BehN are also eligible for this award. For the School of Medicine graduate student paper competition, in contrast to the departmental award, epub dates are not considered.
Postdocs- You have until Thursday, Dec 31st to submit your paper to the School of Medicine Alumni Association for consideration in their competition. Please contact me for the application form if you're interested.
