In support of OHSU’s Vision 20/20’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, the OHSU Center for Diversity & Multicultural Affairs held its 10th Annual Multicultural Health & Science Conference on Friday, February 19, 2010. The conference drew in 327 prospective health and science candidates from both Oregon and Washington State. The event offered an interactive full day filled with opportunities for candidates to meet with OHSU faculty, admission officers and students from the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. Dr. Ann Beckett, Assistant Professor from the School of Nursing, served as the keynote speaker and inspired the audience with her journey and words of wisdom.
The Center for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs thanked the OHSU community who actively supported the event and assisted the center in delivering a well-organized and successful event. Their appreciation went out to co-sponsors, academic partners, faculty and volunteers who assisted with logistics, tours, presentations, and panels.
