End of an ERes

ERes (OHSU Library's electronic reserves system) will no longer be available after June 15, 2010.  All course materials will be removed on that date.
Many instructors have already transitioned their course documents to OHSU's Sakai <https://sakai.ohsu.edu/xsl-portal/>  (an open source course management system) and are pleased with the enhanced options and display capabilities that Sakai offers.

The decision to eliminate ERes was a difficult one. ERes is easy and intuitive to use. However, due to the recent budget challenges, it no longer made sense to support two systems. Since Sakai provides much more functionality than ERes, the decision was made to continue with Sakai.

The library encourages faculty to contact Academic Technology at sakai@ohsu.edu and arrange to set up a course page.  Library staff are happy to work with faculty and Academic Technology staff in making sure that the transfer of items from ERes to Sakai is successful. We strongly recommend that Spring term 2010 be the target for transferring files. This allows testing in the new system, while keeping the option of a fallback position within the existing OHSU Library ERes system.  Come July 1, 2010, Sakai will be the beginning of a new ERes.
