Frederick Keller, MDFrederick Keller, MD, Professor and Director of the Dotter Interventional Institute, was recently awarded the CIRSE Gold Medal. He is the second American physician to be honored with this award.

The CIRSE (Cardiovascular and Interventional Society of Europe) Gold Medal is awarded to individuals who demonstrate continuing distinguished and extraordinary service to the discipline of Interventional Radiology. Recipients exemplify those who have devoted their talents and energy to advance the quality of medicine, patient care and interventional radiology, and who, through their outstanding dedication, help ensure the specialty’s future.

“The positive recognition from my European peers and colleagues represented by the 2010 CIRSE Gold medal is most meaningful,” said Dr. Keller. “I feel both humbled and honored to receive this important award.”

Dr. Keller will be honored on October 2, 2010, at the CIRSE meeting in Valencia, Spain.
