Dr. Sahni elected president-elect of the National Association of EMS Physicians

Dr. SahniRitu Sahni, MD, MPH, Associate Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, has been elected president-elect of the National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP).

The NAEMSP is an organization of physicians and other professionals partnering to provide leadership and foster excellence in and out of hospital emergency medical services.

“I am incredibly honored to have been elected to this position,” said Dr. Sahni. “It is humbling to think that your peers look to you for leadership.”

Dr. Sahni said it is a “particularly exciting time,” as the American Board of Medical Specialties has named Emergency Medical Services the latest official medical subspecialty.  As a result, NAEMSP will be involved in growing and developing the subspecialty and creating greater awareness.

As president-elect, Dr. Sahni will serve on the association’s Executive Committee and will become president in two years. He was previously secretary-treasurer of NAEMSP.
