Guide-dog puppies, athletes, musical performers and other community groups will spread holiday cheer to patients and families at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Dec. 11 – 25.  Media are invited to attend. To protect our fragile patients with weakened immune systems, please be sure news crews planning to attend don’t have cold or flu-like symptoms.

Saturday, Dec. 11
10 a.m.    Guide-Dog Puppies — Sightmasters guide-dog puppies and their trainers will go room to room visiting patients and families.

Monday, Dec. 13
9:30 a.m.    Portland Winterhawks — Team members will sign autographs and pass out gifts to patients and families.

Tuesday, Dec. 14
9 a.m.     Make-A-Wish Shopping Spree — The Make-A-Wish Foundation will display merchandise for patients to shop and select gifts for family members.

Tuesday, Dec. 14
7 p.m.     Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts — Portland’s nostalgic 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll band will carol through the halls of Doernbecher.

Wednesday, Dec. 15
6:30 p.m.    Portland Strings Performance — This group of young performers will entertain visitors and patients with holiday music.

Monday, Dec. 20
2 p.m.    Spirit Mountain Casino — Spirit Mountain Casino will deliver a semi-truck full of new, unwrapped toys. Last year, the casino brought 50 pallets of toys.

Saturday, Dec. 25
8 a.m.    Santa Claus Comes to Doernbecher – Santa never forgets the children at Doernbecher and will make a special visit to deliver gifts for each patient.
