Three Division of Internal Medicine & Geriatrics faculty elected to key leadership positions

The Division of Internal Medicine & Geriatrics announced that three faculty members were elected to leadership positions in the Northwest regional chapter of the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) for 2011-2012. 

  • Joe Hardman, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, is the incoming President. 
  • Todd Korthuis, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, is the President-elect. 
  • Betsy Haney, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, is the Secretary/Treasurer-Elect. 


The Society of General Internal Medicine was founded in 1978 by a national group of academic general internists committed to promoting research and education aimed at improving healthcare for the whole patient. Drawing upon their expertise and diverse experiences, SGIM members are from the United States and eleven other countries.
