OHSU School of Nursing Celebrates a Century of Education, Research, and Practice

The Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing is hosting a series of events to celebrate the school's 100th anniversary this month. The School of Nursing offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs in nursing across Oregon with five campuses throughout the state. EVENTS: Thursday, April 28, 2011

History of nursing/Florence Nightingale archives exhibit - Various items from the OHSU School of Nursing archives will be on display including nursing uniforms, photos, educational materials and instruments. In addition, OHSU has arranged for a temporary loan of some of Florence Nightingale's belongings, including the wheelchair she used later in life. These materials on are loan from Johns Hopkins University. In addition, an actor will bring Florence Nightingale to life and answer questions from the audience. Details: 3 − 5 p.m. - First Congressional Church, Portland. Free

Formal Gala Celebration - Opera legend Barbara Smith Conrad will perform and those individuals who played a crucial role in Oregon Nursing will be honored. Details: Nursing awards: 5 p.m. Barbara Smith Conrad performance: 7 p.m., Portland Art Museum. Tickets required.

School of Nursing Open House and Reunion Events – The school welcomes all visitors to the Marquam hill campus to celebrate and reminisce with our alumni, community partners, faculty, and students.
