Strike Out Parkinson’s Disease has raised more than $40,000 for Parkinson’s disease research and assistance for families affected by Parkinson’s. A Portland-area family affected by Parkinson’s started the event in 2004. Sunset Lanes donates the use of its facilities for the event, along with a free lunch. Proceeds from the event benefit Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon (www.parkinsonsresources.org), which provides education and support for Parkinson’s families, and the Parkinson Center of Oregon at Oregon Health & Science University, a nationally recognized “Center of Excellence” for Parkinson’s disease treatment and research.
