Free Access to National Academies Press eBooks

The National Academies Press (NAP) now offers all of their publications free online covering a wide range of topics in science, engineering and health. The Library holds many of their titles in print and links to these free titles have been added to the catalog for the 135 NAP titles published after 1995. Patrons can now view these instantly without needing to physically check out the title. NAP publishes reports issued by the National Academy of Science, Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Engineering and National Resources Council.

Additionally, the University of Oregon is leading an effort to collaboratively update OCLC master records to include URLs for approximately 4000 NAP titles. A number of academic libraries, including OHSU, have volunteered to update records for this project.
