The Oregon Office of Rural Health at Oregon Health & Science University is seeking nominations for the 2014 Oregon Rural Health Hero of the Year Award. The award will honor an outstanding person, program or organization that has improved the quality and availability of health care in rural communities.

"Rural Oregon is full of heroes,” said Scott Ekblad, director of the Oregon Office of Rural Health. "Think of the people or organizations that have had an impact on health care in your community — access, education, delivery. These are the heroes that make our communities great places to live and are the people you can honor by nominating them for the health hero of the year.”

The 2014 Oregon Rural Health Hero will be announced at the 31th Annual Oregon Rural Health Conference Oct. 15 - 17, 2014 at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon.

Nomination forms will be accepted from now through July 25, 2014.
