To thank and honor Robertson, both the Senate and the House unanimously passed Oregon Senate Concurrent Resolution 205, which recognizes President Robertson’s numerous contributions to OHSU and to Oregon.

Highlights from Robertson’s tenure as president of Oregon’s only academic health center include:

Senator Peter Courtney introduced the resolution in the Senate last week, stating, “You know there is a very good attitude on that hill. A very good can-do attitude, caring attitude on that hill. It starts with this man sitting at my desk, Dr. Joe Robertson.”

Several senators gave testimony in support of the resolution, many sharing stories of their personal health experiences. Senator Cliff Bentz reflected that he first met Robertson in Ontario, Oregon, and thanked him for his commitment to smaller communities and rural Oregon. The resolution passed unanimously.

This week, the House took up the resolution also testifying to the impact Robertson and OHSU have made on the State of Oregon.

The resolution was adopted with a unanimous vote, and the representatives rose to give Robertson a standing ovation.
