Dr. Choo’s research focuses on women’s health, substance-use disorders, violence, health disparities, gender medicine, digital health, intervention development and faculty development. Choo is the recipient of the 2014 Young Investigator Award by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, awarded to researchers who have demonstrated “commitment and achievement in research in the early stages of their academic careers.” Her research on substance abuse, intimate partner violence and women’s health has received funding support from the National Institutes of Health. In addition to her faculty appointment in the Department of Emergency Medicine she is part of the OHSU Center for Policy & Research in Emergency Medicine.
