Dr. Zuckerman specializes in general pediatrics with a research focus on developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Her analyses of the importance of early detection and treatment of autism spectrum disorder, as well as the impacts of racial and ethnic disparities on health services delivery have been nationally recognized in multiple peer-reviewed publications. Her research has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health of the National Institutes of Health, as well as foundations such as Autism Speaks.
