OHSU statement regarding USDA 'Open Case'

"The Oregon National Primate Research Center has not been contacted about any investigation. We support and adhere to the appropriately stringent Animal Welfare Act and Animal Welfare Regulations with oversight provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Office for Laboratory Animal Welfare of the National Institutes of Health and the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International. The primate center is regularly reviewed by federal agencies for adherence to relevant regulations and also participates in a volunteer accreditation program that assures our programs are taking extra steps to achieve excellence in animal care." —Nancy Haigwood, Ph.D, Director, Oregon National Primate Research Center
