The panel will be moderated by David Freeman, science bureau chief at The Wall Street Journal. A “virtual hallway” networking session with panelists and fellow attendees follows.

OHSU Invent-a-thon Post-Hack
WHO:
The top teams from the 49 that emerged from last fall’s OHSU Invent-a-thon make their pitch for $40,000 in funding and in-kind investor support. It’s an opportunity to see the future of digital health and med-tech first hand, and network with other healthcare innovation enthusiasts in the field while judges deliberate and celebrate the winners. Attendance is free and open to all.

About the OHSU Invent-a-thon
The OHSU Invent-a-thon is a biannual health care hackathon developed and led by OHSU in partnership with MIT Hacking Medicine and with support from more than 50 academic and industry partners. The inaugural OHSU Invent-a-thon last October coalesced hundreds of innovators worldwide. Participants formed interdisciplinary teams, bringing together different backgrounds, universities, and fields to identify the biggest problems in delivering medical care, and to think outside traditionally siloed research facilities and industries to develop innovative solutions. Forty-nine teams, chasing solutions to pressing healthcare challenges in health equity, surgical care, early disease detection, rural health, and management of chronic conditions made it through the 48-hour event and pitched their solutions to panels of expert judges to compete for $28,000 in prizes. Since the event teams have plugged into follow-on support from partners at OHSU and beyond. This Spring, the top teams are invited back to pitch their progress to a group of investors and compete for $40,000 in funding at the OHSU Invent-a-thon Post-Hack, April 21, 2021.
