Marie Chisholm-Burns, Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., FCCP, FASHP, FAST, FACHE, executive vice president and provost at Oregon Health & Science University, was recently honored with the Elizabeth Hurlock Beckman Award.
The Beckman Award, created by Gail McKnight Beckman (trustee: Wells Fargo Philanthropic Services), recognizes faculty members who inspire students to make a significant difference by creating organizations or procedures that benefit a community. Nominated by a former student, Dr. Chisholm-Burns is one of eight recipients nationwide selected in 2023.
“I’m so honored to be recognized with a Beckman award,” Chisholm-Burns said. “As an educator it means the world to me to make a lasting impact on students and inspire them to give back in service to their communities.”
A reception honoring all awardees was held on Saturday, Oct. 14, in Atlanta. Chisholm-Burns’ nominator, Susan E. Smith, Pharm.D., BCCCP, BCPS, FCCM, is a clinical associate professor in the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy’s Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy, and critical care clinical pharmacist at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
