OHSU Foundation announces new board members

Strong and committed group of community and business leaders will help ignite the power of philanthropy, effective July 1, 2024

The OHSU Foundation has appointed Kelly Schrader as its new board chair, Eric Dishman as vice chair, and five new trustees to its board.

The OHSU Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of trustees comprised of civic and business leaders who help the Foundation ignite the power of philanthropy in support of OHSU’s missions.

“These new trustees bring diverse experiences and strong business acumen to the board,” said Jill Eiland, interim president of the OHSU Foundation. “Their active involvement in the community and demonstrated leadership qualities will be especially valuable as we continue to advance the missions of OHSU through strategic philanthropy.”

New board chair Schrader is an active community volunteer and corporate board member with a background as a financial consultant and former credit union CEO. Since 2014, she has been a dedicated supporter of OHSU and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, most recently serving as vice chair of the OHSU Foundation. Her committee appointments include the OHSU Foundation Board Executive Committee, the Nominating and Engagement Committee, the Finance and Audit Committee, and the OHSU 2024 Foundation Presidential Search Committee. Schrader served three years as the co-chair of the Doernbecher Philanthropy Board before joining the OHSU Foundation Board in 2023.

Previously, she was the president and CEO of iQ Credit Union before retiring in 2021. Prior to that, she was the senior vice president and chief operations and risk officer with OnPoint Community Credit Union. With more than two decades of experience in the regional credit union industry, she brings relevant expertise and leadership experience to the OHSU Foundation.

Vice chair Dishman served on the OHSU Foundation Board from 2015 to 2016 before rejoining the board in 2021 after federal service. Currently, he is a life sciences innovation consultant through his company, DishStrong Innovation, LLC. Previously, he was the founding CEO/director of the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Research Program, the VP of the Health and Life Sciences Group at Intel Corporation and an Intel Fellow. He serves on the OHSU Foundation Finance and Audit Committee, the Executive Committee, the OHSU Foundation Nominating and Engagement Committee and the 2022-2024 OHSU Presidential Search Committee.

Damien Hall, partner at Dunn Carney LLP, focuses on advising property owners and local governments as they navigate Oregon’s unique land use requirements and sensitivities to controlled growth. He was recently appointed by Governor Kotek to Oregon’s Housing Production Advisory Council and serves on various boards, including the Portland Community Reinvestment Initiatives Board of Directors and the Urban Land Institute’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force.

David Payne, vice president of Employee Benefits at The Standard, has served in various leadership positions within the company since joining in 2009. Before his time at The Standard, he held professional roles at Limited Brands Companies and GE Financial Assurance. He served on the Ronald McDonald House Charities Oregon and SW Washington board from 2009 to 2021.

Mike Petitt, CFO of United States Bakery/Franz Bakery, brings expertise in accounting, banking, insurance, and law.

Previously, he was the corporate controller at sporting goods manufacturer Leupold and corporate controller and finance director at Evraz Inc. (formerly Oregon Steel Mills). He was treasurer for Sunset Youth Football for over seven years and is now treasurer for Friends of Sunset Football.

Dylan Robinson, manager of Corporate Citizenship at Global Partners LP, previously worked as the External Relations Manager for the 2022 Oregon gubernatorial campaign of OHSU Foundation Life Trustee Senator Betsy Johnson.

Robinson is also involved with Sport Oregon, the Oregon Historical Society and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The newest ex-officio board member is:

Ronda Trotman D.M.D., OHSU School of Dentistry alum and second-generation dentist, has practiced in Tigard/Hillsboro for 12 years and in the Portland metropolitan area for over 20 years.

She is a past president of the OHSU School of Dentistry Alumni Leadership Council and will serve as the School of Dentistry Alumni Representative on the OHSU Foundation board.
