Oregon Health & Science University has introduced a new treatment for prostate cancer using a robotic high-intensity focused ultrasound device. Led by Sudhir Isharwal, M.D., this effectively targets cancerous tissue with fewer side effects, particularly for patients with a single focal point of cancer, which accounts for about one-third of cases.
