Dr. Englander’s research focuses on transforming health care, specifically hospital-to-home transitions for vulnerable adults, including those with substance use disorder. Englander is principal investigator and director of Project IMPACT (Improving Addiction Care Team), which brings together physicians, social workers, peer-recovery mentors and community addiction providers to tackle the root causes of opioid addiction when patients are admitted to the hospital. She is also the 2017 recipient of the “We are CODA” award, in recognition of her work in addiction recovery in the Portland metro area.
