WHAT:
OHSU is partnering with the Sarcoma Foundation of America and the Northwest Sarcoma Foundation to host an “Ask the Experts” patient education conference specifically designed for patients and families interested in learning more about sarcoma, a relatively rare cancer of the bones and soft tissue. Attendees will hear from and pose questions to sarcoma experts, including:
- Lara Davis, M.D., assistant professor of medicine (hematology and medical oncology) in the OHSU School of Medicine
- Dale Han, M.D., associate professor of surgery in the OHSU School of Medicine
- Kenneth Gundle, M.D., assistant professor of orthopaedics and rehabilitation in the OHSU School of Medicine
- Chris Ryan, M.D., professor of medicine (hematology and medical oncology) in the OHSU School of Medicine
- Yee-Cheen Doung, M.D., assistant professor of orthopaedics and rehabilitation in the OHSU School of Medicine
- Arthur Hung, M.D., associate professor of radiation medicine in the OHSU School of Medicine
Free sessions on complementary therapies, such as physical therapy, yoga, writing for health, palliative care, mindfulness, and more, will be offered.
WHO:
All patients, caregivers and families are welcome to attend. Attendees do not have to be OHSU patients.
WHEN:
Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Breakfast/registration will begin at 8 a.m. Sessions begin at 9 a.m.
