During their seventh bargaining session, members of the OHSU and House Officers Union (HOU) bargaining teams met in person on Thursday, Oct. 5 for the second part of their Interest Based Bargaining (IBB) training. This training was led by an Employee Relations Board facilitator. The discussion was centered around holiday schedules and distribution to house officers.
IBB is a collaborative approach where the teams proactively identify solutions to outcomes at the bargaining table, and agreements are based on mutual interests rather than stated positions. This approach emphasizes problem solving and aims to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
