Dr. Braner has been caring for critically ill patients at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for more than 25 years, including 15 as chief of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, and medical director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Braner volunteers his time and expertise to international disaster and relief missions, caring for critically ill children in Indonesia, Honduras, New Orleans and Haiti, among others. He is a member of the OR 2 Disaster Assistance Team and the National Disaster Medical Service MAC team, and volunteers as an Angel Flight pilot.

Braner has received numerous teaching awards from medical students, residents and fellow faculty, including OHSU’s highest teaching honor, the OHSU Faculty Excellence in Education Award.
