Dr. Katie Stowers announced as Interim Director for Center of Ethics

Stowers assumes interim leadership with retirement of Dr. Susan Tolle this month

Provost Marie Chisholm-Burns has appointed Katie H. Stowers, DO, FAAHPM, the Interim Director for the Center for Ethics in Health Care, effective Nov. 8, 2023. 

Dr. Stowers joined the center's leadership team as Associate Director in 2019. She is an Associate Professor, Division of Hematology/Medical Oncology in the School of Medicine and also holds an appointment with the Knight Cancer Institute with a focus on hospice and palliative care. 

retirement celebration for Dr. Tolle, who served as center director since 1989, is planned for Monday, Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. in the BICC Gallery. Join the Provost Office and the Center for Ethics in Health Care in thanking Dr. Tolle for her incredible 42 years of service to OHSU. OHSU is conducting a national search for a new director, led by the search firm Korn Ferry.
