OHSU joins the Human Rights Campaign and 129 organizations nationwide in voicing our support for the Equality Act. The protections of the Equality Act will ensure that all Americans, regardless of their sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or transgender status are protected from discrimination that threatens their health and well-being.

OHSU thanks Sen Jeff Merkley for his leadership in co-authoring and introducing this comprehensive bill that would provide the same basic protections to LGBTQ Americans that are provided on the basis of race, religion or ethnicity under federal law.

We urge the Senate to pass this critical legislation that will provide affirmative, statutory nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ Americans both in the workplace and in the community.
