WHAT:  

More than 100 health care students from across the state will offer uninsured and underinsured Oregonians free access to services and tools, including medical check-ups, personal hygiene items, and dental, vision and hearing exams as a part of the annual Health Care Equity Week Health Fair hosted by Oregon Health & Science University.

WHEN:

WHERE: 

O’Bryant Square, S.W. Park Ave. and Washington St., downtown Portland

The fair takes place in the parking garage below O’Bryant Square. Media should enter via Stark St.

DETAILS:  

Students and faculty from the OHSU schools of Medicine, Nursing and Dentistry, as well as the OSU/OHSU College of Pharmacy, will work with other volunteers and organizations from the Portland community to schedule follow-up medication appointments and provide resources for addiction, mental health, housing and domestic violence services, and much more.

The health fair features student-organized guest speakers and volunteer events intended to raise awareness about disparities in the U.S. health care system.

For more than a decade, the event has helped hundreds of underserved Oregonians. The fair is held in conjunction with the weekly free meal service, “Potluck in the Park,” in O’Bryant Square.
