May 16: OHSU scientist to discuss TB, HIV vaccine research, clinical trials

MEDIA ALERT: Klaus Früh, Ph.D., to present at Society of Physician Entrepreneurs chapter meeting

WHAT:

OHSU’s Klaus Früh, Ph.D., a professor at OHSU’s Vaccine & Gene Therapy Institute, will discuss his work in developing tuberculosis and HIV vaccines based on the cytomegalovirus, as well as share efforts by OHSU spinoff Vir Biotechnology to bring those vaccines to human clinical trials a meeting of the Portland chapter of the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs.

Dan Ladizinsky, M.D., co-founder and CEO of SUTUREGARD™ Medical will provide a biotech startup pitch on SUTUREGARD™, which allows surgeons to extend their scope of practice and simply close wounds that would otherwise require skin grafts, flaps or prolonged wound care.
