Members of the Oregon Health & Science University and Graduate Researchers United bargaining teams met in-person Tuesday, May 23, in their tenth collective bargaining session.
OHSU proposals
Article 12, Time Off: OHSU countered offering a one-time front load of five days of PTO in an effort to ensure that first-year graduate researchers (GRs) have paid time off upon initial appointment as a GR.
GRU counter-proposals
- New article and Memorandum of Understanding – Labor Management and Contract Education and Misinformation: GRU presented a package that addresses the creation of a joint labor management committee, which would also act as a vehicle for addressing contract training and misinformation.
- Article 9, Health Insurance and Other Benefits: GRU accepted OHSU’s proposal on notifications regarding benefits and proposed that OHSU cover the premium for up to three dependents, lower the out-of-pocket maximum, and lower dependent care reimbursements.
Going forward
The teams will next meet virtually on Tuesday, May 30, with bi-monthly-to-weekly meetings as determined by the teams.
